Description

MAT2 (Metadata Anonymisation Toolkit 2) is a command-line tool and library that removes hidden metadata from a wide range of file formats, including images, PDFs, Office documents, audio and video. Metadata such as GPS coordinates, device models, author names and editing history can quietly reveal who you are and where you were; MAT2 strips it out so you can share files safely. It powers metadata cleaning in tools like Tails and several GUI front-ends, and is a focused open-source way to avoid accidental data leaks.
