Element is the leading client for the Matrix protocol, an open, decentralized communication network. Matrix enables end-to-end encrypted messages, voice and video calls, and bridging to other platforms such as Slack, Discord, and IRC. Element offers rooms, spaces, threads, and file sharing. Since Matrix is federated, users on different servers can communicate with each other. Element is used by governments and organizations worldwide.
